Allow just a small personal PMS (poor me syndrome) rant.
My neighbors to the west are vacationing in their RV in Arizona until March (they left Sept 5) so I'm taking care of their driveways and sidewalks.
My neighbor to the east has a home hospice setup and is in the final stages of lung cancer so I'm taking care of their driveway and sidewalk.
The snowplow came through yesterday afternoon and left about a 3' ridge in the end of all driveways. We got another 4-5 inches of snow last night so he came by again before dawn. Then he came by AGAIN to "wing back" the banks. Mixed with the salt the snow is the consistancy of beach sand and doesn't blow very far or, for that matter, very well at all.
Thank God I've got a snow blower but even so it's getting damned OLD!
If you were to set up a fundraiser to hire a service for the neighbor in hospice, I would donate. Even if the service is the kid down the street with a shovel. It would take part of the load off of you atleast.
My Father was using hospice care when he was in the final stages of lung cancer too. My Mother was so busy taking care of him, that the neighbor would mow her lawn without even asking. I would love to pay it foward somehow.
