Apology to Jake Novak, Producer, In The Money; CNN
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 10:39 AM by xultar
Jake,
Please accept my sincerest apologies for calling you snotty and potty mouth in my post last evening. I was over the top and I do hope you forgive my being rude.

You did mention that you gave Clark his due because he did well in a web poll on your show. I must have missed that. The media biased against Clark is pretty serious. Here is a sample of ABCs coverage last night. This was posted on Clark's blog last evening.

This was ABC's usual lack of ever mentioning of Clark, this morning of the race for the primary, on their Good Morning America Show. Tomorrow is primary day in 7 states!!

The coverage was a two part theme.

Main theme was that Kerry was a Patriot fan and Edwards was from Panther territory, so all the coverage was on them and pictures of them campaigning and also watching the Super Bowl game.

No of Time Candidates Mentioned:
(in order of frequency)
Kerry 4 times
Dean 2 times
Edwards 2 times

Clark 0
Kucinich 0
Liebermann 0
Sharpton 0

No. of Time Candidates Pictured:
Kerry 6 times
Dean 5 times
Edwards 4 times

Clark 0
Kucinich 0
Liebermann 0
Sharpton 0

Second part of coverage was on the 'race in general'. It started out, "Well, that was in So Carolina, but there are other states in the race for Tuesday election: Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arizona (he named them all).
(The report:) "Amazingly there are NO negative ads running in these states against Senator John Kerry, the presumed front runner." (That was the report friends for the primary race friends on ABC.)

Candidates mentioned news segment two:
Kerry 1 time

Candidates pictures in news segment two:
Kerry 1 time

Candidates not mentioned or pictured in entire coverage:
Clark 0
Kucinich 0
Liebermann 0
Sharpton 0

If you were trying to pick a 'winner' for a race against Bush, who would you vote for in Tuesday's primary?

Again Jake, Please accept my apology. I will continue to watch in the money and I will ask others to watch here @ DU since you've been so kind to put up with my crap.
T. A

1. My apology email to Jake just sent moments ago...
Jake,
I apologize for being rude to you. You didn't deserve what I posted. Your assumption that I was "sad" because I was trying to make an email campaign look like there were more of us than their actually were made me extremely angry. As you can tell by your visit to DU, the fact that there is one of us isn't correct. As a matter of fact It is quite the opposite. There are many of us who are calling the media on our bias. In my zeal I went over the top and crossed the line. I felt though that your calling me "sad" was quite snotty. Even though I thought so I should have been more thoughtful and been more professional about the situation. Because I was unfair, I will post a public apology to you.

Jake I apologize for being rude to you. I don't want you to think my attempts at pointing out the media bias are sad attempts. Just know that we number more than 1 or 4. There are hundereds that are noticing.

Again Jake, accept my apology for being rude.
Please see the apology posted here:

Dear Turra:

I'm no relation to Bob Novak. And I saw your web log where you called me "snotty" and a "potty mouth." I don't see how my message is either. Plus, you never apologized for just sending me a mass email and not even bothering to see that "In the Money" did give Clark his due.

Jake has been a great guy putting up with my crap. I do hope as Clark supporters and DUers we can start supporting Jake in his endevors over @ CNN with In the Money. Hopefully Jake will accept my olive branch.

Jack Cafferty though is a whole different ball game. To win me over Jack has gotta get a grip on the whole grouchy old'dude thing. ;)
