5. My mom buys yarn there.
I hate the place. The only thing of value is them being the sole purveyor of yarn in her area. Only thing she buys there.

However, she buys the yarn to make scarves, shawls, mittens, etc to donate to her church and homeless shelters.

8. I heard a rumor they're closing the craft and fabric sections.
Now that they've driven all the small fabric stores out of business, natch.

10. Yeah, our local place went out of business :(
Been around for decades, closed last year :( Now it's Wal-mart for yarn, or driving 20 miles out of my way to another chain store... ugh.

7. Their lighting and store layout depresses me.
Their food section depresses me.
Their "associates" are all depressed.
Their managers are the main cause of their "associates'" depression.

I go to Target. Not much better, but....better.

9. IIRC, Target is a blue company.
Maybe that's it

Walmart? Haven't been there since I lived in Texas back in the 80's.
Hate 'em with a passion.

14. I shop at Target, and it serves its purpose...
...good selection of kitchen gadgets. Got some very cool crimson & black dinner plates / soup bowls / salad plates. I have a Bissell "Little Green Machine" cleaner and I sometimes need a refill jug of the cleaning solution. I occasionally splurge on cologne (Drakkar Noir) and they have a good price.

I went to WalMart ONCE because an ex-girlfriend asked me to drive her there. Too damn depressing. Minimum-wage "greeters" at the door. A shopping experience that just sucks the very life force out of you, as it does the employees.

I like Target. The cashiers are always friendly and in a real, not forced manner.

Literally, its shit. Whenever I succumb to entering that hell hole, I can't find anything I'd want - at any price.

20. With a passion beyond all human understanding.
I have no choice though. Who else will sell my blood pressure medicine in town for $4 a month? And my Zoloft for $32 a month? No one. It's $10 for the HBP meds, granted, but it's $90 a month for the Zoloft. I'll go there if I can save that much. That's the end of that.

I do despise it though for running the only music store we had out of town. Now, I don't have any good music choices any more. I have to shop online if I want good music. At least it's not like the 80s when I had to drive 90 miles west to get music "when I got a chance."

A multi-billion $ corporation closes the pharmacy for lunch on Saturday afternoon?! Give me a break!

Not to mention, every other thing about it. The aisles are full of fat freaks!

22. I took the keyboard back. Got the one at the resale shop.
The lady at the service desk asked me why I was returning it. I told her, "I don't like to shop at Wal-Mart for ethical reasons, and so, when I found a very similar keyboard at 'New To You', I bought that one." Her: "We hear that kind of thing from time to time." Then she handed me $100. I liked taking money from Wal-Mart.

So, yes. I loathe Wal-Mart.

32. The Wal-Mart near me sucks.
The aisles are too narrow, the merchandise is crappy, it's dirty, & I really detest that "greeter" practice of theirs. It creeps me out.

Someone gave me a Wal-Mart card once, & I spent it on cigarettes because they had no decent books or CDs in the entire store. There was really nothing else I wanted in the whole place.

I avoid Wal-Mart like the plague. I shop at my clean, well-lit non-claustrophobic Target, thank you very much.
