OH MY GAWD! I'm normal.
Well, weight-wise anyway.

I hadn't plugged my height and weight into a BMI calculator in a while. Went and did it just now - I'm in the normal range...FINALLY!

5'8" - 155lbs = NORMAL :-)

5. Ok, you got me...
That's my weight when I got on the scale Sunday afternoon before I got in the shower. I must have gained a couple of pounds from that spread at bearfan's. But guess what...5'8" and even up to 160 would be normal and I doubt I gained that much in one day. I was already normal and I just didn't know it. :-)

means you're "normal." :silly:

Congratulations! I know you worked hard at it and did it the right way. :yourock:

And don't worry - I'm not planning on letting normality seep over into other areas of my life. :-)

3. Maybe on the BMI scale...
But as far as anything else goes...well, lemme just say *normal* isn't the first word that comes to mind when I hear the name "Velma". :P

GO YOU!! You are such an inspiration!! :toast: :bounce:

the first word that came to mind was "perv" or maybe "bridesmaid" :-)

Thanks for the congrats sweetie. Still not as exciting as your news though. I congratulated short bus last night but here's one just for you.

I'm sitting here reading about your excellent weight-loss and self-discipline while stuffing a giant BLT into my face...x(

Anyhoo, you'd BETTER find a way to get your new svelte ass over here for the post-nuptial fandango (prolly will just do the JOP thang for the actual wedding;)). That is, if we ever decide on a date...

I'm sure we'll keep you posted. :)

(HA!! Get it...POSTED?? <slaps thigh>...:D)

4. I wish you would go metric already! (edited)
Edited on Tue Feb-03-04 08:58 AM by JCCyC
1.73m, 70 kg. A fine figure.

On edit: Here in Sane-Measurement-Land, a rough rule of thumb for adults is if your weight in kg is equal or less than your height minus 1 meter you're ok. Kind of breaks down, though, when your height approaches two meters (around 6'7).

I'm waaaaaay overweight (1.83m, 110 kg).

9. Hee...
that reminded me of the Simpsons quote where grampa was going on about how they measured something in "rods to the hogshead and that's the way we liked it".

If you say I look good in metric I believe ya though. Thanks. *smooches*

17. Congrats!!!
I'm about where you are, but my shortness (5'5") keeps me out of normal just yet, but I'm almost there too. It's awesome really except I have the same issues as you you regarding being one size on top and another on the bottom. I love dresses (not that I get to wear them much, but I still love them) and it's so hard to find something that fits. Then again, there are worse problems I suppose that one could have.

(It's hard to completely stay away from this place.)

I should be in bed. I called in sick today - got a nasty headache - but I just can't make myself log off.

P.S. Hope you're doing better today. I got your PM when I logged on this morning but I've been moving a little slow about responding.

19. You have a headache, too?!
What was IN that deer sausage? :P

Seriously, I've had a pounding headache since yesterday evening. It's sorta been tempered by aspirin, but at about 5 this morning, I thought my head was going to split open. *ouch*

But, since I took yesterday off (planned, dammit!) I figured I had better drag my ass in this morning. :D

20. I'm not blaming mine on the sausage though...
I popped my shoulder out of socket on Saturday. I popped it back into place but it pulled the muscles in my neck when I did it. Those muscles were a little twitchy the last couple of days but overnight last night they seized up hard and I'm dying. My shoulder and back adn neck and head are all throbbing and I'm gonna sit here all day with the heating pad on them til I feel better dammit.

29. Damn, girl! I've heard of people who 'like it rough'
but, I mean, there's a LIMIT. I'm trying to imagine what you might have been doing to make you pop a joint out of socket. Maybe I don't want to know.

I'm here this morning because my temp assignment ended yesterday. Yay! I can hang for a while.

30. Actually nothing too rough...
sometimes if the muscles in my neck get all tensed up they will just pull the shoulder out of socket. It doesn't really even hurt at the time. I just pop it back into place and go on with what I'm doing.

What happened this time is that my body was all tensed up for quite a long period of time Saturday and the muscles in my neck never really loosened back up so they keep on pulling on my shoulder.

31. Um........................yeah.
Guess my life is just a little too cushy.

It's nice to talk to you again, Vel. I was starting to feel like a stranger again. I'll never forget when I started to feel like a regular back in the day; you know, I'd post something, and people would reply: "Hey Aristus, how's it going, man?" Cool. Shit, 35 and I'm still looking to belong. :eyes:

I'm friends with some of the teens on DU and I'm forever telling them that life doesn't get any less confusing as you get older. You still have all the same insecurities. :-)

You are a sweetie-pie.

I'll probably survive the shoulder. The heating pad is helping a little bit and I have all day to work the kinks out. I just keep reminding myself that what fucked up my shoulder this time was totally worth it. ;-)
