KC dems, surrounding area--how much snow did you get??
Thought I saw someone post about getting 1.5 feet--yeow! Down here in Wichita we might have got 2-3 inches, they were predicting doom and gloom starting on Friday afternoon. Weather people here thought we might get at least 6-7 but nope.

Talk about a bunch of hype over nothing. I imagine the weather forecasters all have red faces. They were telling us we were going to have the storm of the century with 15 inches of snow. Grocery stores were packed. Some of the news stations even had special graphics for their upcoming storm coverage. You don't suppose it had anything to do with sweeps week do you?

7. Why...I thought only the Wichita weather guys hyped like crazy...
Some forecaster's were talking maybe 10" in Wichita when they started pimping this thing up on Fri,then they backed off to 6-7. Cripes,do these guys get kickbacks from Kroger,Food for Less etc...???

These weather guys have a job to do but its just got to the point of being totally ridiculous. Every storm, big or small is another "sky is falling" event as they posture for the highest ratings.

Hell, last year early spring one of the radio stations I listen to had to halt all music for about 3 hours for just a GD thunderstorm. Yeah, the sky got dark,we had some loud thunder some periodic heavy rain but WTF,it wasn't even severe. But..on and on and on they went with the coverage,it was a joke.

2. Here in Topeka
we got almost 3/4 inch of ice followed by 8 inches of snow. Yes, they had us all worried again for nothing.

3. Here in Lincoln, NE in the last 10 days we have got 16" and
may have up to 7" more by Thursday. I can't even get to my mail box without going through snow up to my thighs.

6. quarter inch and ice here, central MO
Amazing how much trouble a thin layer of ice can cause. I saw a five-car accident and a three-car accident on the way home last night.
