1. fat meaning wide meaning "not happening outside the realm of possibilities
Slim meaning the margin is small and likely to occur.

But, I concur, billyskank...some phrases are like a dueling match.


Similar in the casual vernacular of "Big deal" often comes across as meaning "No big deal."
