Morrissey just squatted and peed in his cat bed
He was yelling for me to go down and feed him and his buddies, and I hadn't gotten around to it quite yet. I looked over and saw him squatting in the bed, and when he left it I saw he had peed in it. Monty and Sunflower started sniffing the area and doing the "cover it up" thing. I threw the bed in the trash in the garage. He loves that bed - it's very soft, and he kneads on it and shuts his eyes in ecstasy. Monty loves it too, and Sunny will lie on it with both of them. Sunny was lying in it alone last night.

Morrissey has never, EVER done this before - none of them has. I don't know if he's envious of Sunny for some reason, or if he was angry that I hadn't fed him yet, or if it's something else. No signs of blood were in the urine, and he wasn't straining. We used to have a cat with the formerly-named FUS, so believe me, I know the signs of that. We have a Litter-Robot which they all use religiously. I've been using The World's Best Cat Litter and have noticed it does get rather smelly - I wonder if he doesn't like that. I'm going to dump that litter and clean the Robot thoroughly and put another kind in it.

Sunny is 3 1/2 months old and is to be neutered in a few weeks - could Morrissey be smelling something and feeling threatened by that?

I have to work the next two days, and then I'm off for 5 days, but we're going to Kansas for a couple of days over Thanksgiving. Mr. DTBK is off the whole week. I'll have him keep a close eye on Morrissey and see if there are more incidents.

ear mites. I had to wrap them in a towel and put drops in their ears. One time after doing this Pickles was so mad she ran over to the bean bag and did a squat n squirt, glaring right at me the entire time she did it.

Kittehs can be so much fun sometimes.

:sarcasm:

2. Definitely keep an eye on that kitty
When cats exhibit odd behavior, especially ruining where they sleep, that could mean there's a problem.
