Reminder to self: Take your own medication, NOT the dog's
Dammit

I have to take a daily dose of Allegra every AM when I wake up for idiopathic hives.

My dog take 6mg of Thyroxine twice a day as medication for her thyroid.

Not being fully awake, I grabbed, opened, and took one of her thyroid pills.
(She just got a refill and I hadn't put the bottle away yet)

I kind of doubt it will do anything for me since the thyroid med is based on her weight, and I do weigh more than 50 lbs.

but DAMMIT! I feel so D-U-M-B!

Hec, I recently started takin 3 pills a day and I need reminded daily to remember that much. If it wasnt for the reminder I'd probably forget.. well.. umm.. I know I would because it's happened.

Couldn't imagine having to remember another's pill schedule.

:hi:

5. Usually the dog's pills are in a pill minder
So I can know for sure that I have given her twice daily dose.

Just taking the one pill per day for me is plenty of meds. If I have to take more, such as antibiotics, it does become confusing in keeping the schedules (Can't take Allegra and antibiotics together)

:hi: Inchie! :loveya:

7. What happens if you don't read the label:
Years ago, my ex and I came down with different afflictions at the same time. I had a bladder infection and was prescribed a drug called Pyridium, which makes you pee orange. Meantime, the ex (not ex at the time) was taking pills for something else -- an allergy, I think. Anyhoo, one day we're sitting around watching the teevee or something, Ex gets up to go to the bathroom, and then I hear him holler, "WHAT DID YOU PUT IN MY FOOD?!?" He'd taken my pill by mistake and was very startled to see that bright orange...

You may be asking yourself why he made such a paranoid statement in the first place. He didn't think I'd poisoned him; he was just reacting to a recent incident when he made a batch of tapioca and I put blue food coloring in it when he wasn't looking. Which he thought was funny, but after that he was suspicious of such things.
