Dear southern DUers: I'm enjoying a nice cold RC Cola right now.
Or as y'all like to call it, an "RC co-cola".

Sadly, no Moon Pies are involved in my current taste-explosion.

7. We don't get Moon Pies up here.
I didn't have any peanuts to drop into my bottle (can) of RC either. That's my own fault, though.

I'm just happy to have an RC, though. You know what else I miss about living in the South? Cheer Wine. That shit was awesome.

11. Not at all.
I just had to convince my wife to buy some for me. Se wasn't thrilled with the crap-content of it, so I had to resort to the "I'm a grown man! I can drink anything I want!" argument.

21. Hmmm...
"I just had to convince my wife to buy some for me."

Seems to me grown men are perfectly capable of getting in their cars, driving to the grocery store and buying it for themselves. Just sayin' :P

17. No, it was a Chicago thing as well....
I once went into the local drugstore (long ago enough that it still had a soda counter) and ordered a "Green Lake". My mother never let me forget that, she thought it was so funny.

I was maybe 5 or 6 at the time.

20. Heh Heh. The grocery store owner in my neighborhood
Used to call me Howdy Dowdy because I would ask him for Howdy Dowdy bread (Wonder bread)

I guess as a kid, I thought products were named for the TV shows that had their commercials running.

19. The RC Cola Heiress
When I was in college, there was a beautiful young woman of obvious means whose last name was "Crown" and the word around campus was that she was the heiress to the RC Cola fortune. Turned out not to be true... still wealthy, but some other source.

This was a number of years before the Seinfeld episodes with Sue Ellen, the heiress to the O Henry candy bar fortune... wonder if anyone from my school ever ended up writing for Seinfeld?

I have a ton of RC cans in my basement from when they had baseball, basketball and football players on them, like bubble gum cards. Much bulkier.
