I miss my sisters :-(
My younger sister just called from the UK. I haven't seen her or her family in over 2 years and won't see her again for at least another year.

My twin sister sent a photo of my youngest nephew yesterday with one of the search and rescue dogs he's training. Her kids have had the best childhoods. :) I haven't seen them in over 2 years either. :(

Lelapin has another 1 1/2 years in college, then I guess I can take a map and throw a dart.

1. I know how you feel. I hadn't seen my sister in years and then she moved here
last August. Now if I could only see my kids and their families. One is in Denver and the other in Olympia, WA.

2. Thanks...
My twin's in Oklahoma and my parents are in Oregon. I don't think we can get much more spread out.

The sister in the UK is the only person who can make me laugh until I cry. I don't know where the time's gone.

I wish your kids were closer too.

but you have a brother and I'm guessing he's as rotten as you. ;)

Friends, family and love. The rest is noise.

I've been away from family for nearly 25 years now. It really doesn't get easier. You just get used to it.

I know how you feel, my sis is in DC and i don't get to see her nearly enough!!! But at least we're usually dealing with months, instead of years! :(

What brought your sister to the UK?

17. She met her husband online
She kept wandering into the british chatrooms and met M about 8 years ago. (on AOL) They met for the first time at my house. She told me she was coming to look for a place to live and a week later told me "oh by the way, M is flying over too but don't tell Mom and Dad".

She moved over a week before 9/11 and they married later that month. (they'd known one another several years by then)

He's a wonderful man and now that my sister is a British citizen, I no longer pity him as a hostage in my family, he's now one of us. He can't send her back. ;)

22. Neat story!
Have you been able to visit them overseas?

I have a good friend who is moving to England for a couple years... i'm hoping we'll be able to take advantage of the free lodging! ;)

15. I'm so sorry. Maybe both of you should invest in some good
computer camera technology so you can both have a face-to-face conversation when you need it. I know it isn't the same as being able to go places together or just hang out with a mug of soda, but it might help a bit.

I hope you get to see her soon.

(My best friend is only in California, but I only get to see her every 3-4 years because my kids are so young.)

18. I know it's hard
with your own family and financial obligations and lack of time. That's what's kept all of us apart for so long.

28. I was never close with my brother.
He moved to Las Vegas a couple years ago and I haven't spoken with him in over two years. Not that I mind, because he's pretty much a loser.
