2. Apparently denied any wrong doing
Which is what most people do who commit crimes or other discrepancies. How many times does a person accused of robbery, rape or murder when asked by a judge "How do you plea?" say: "I am guilty as hell!" It's our right to deny and the prosecutor's job to prove us wrong.
What gets me, like in the case of Martha Stewart and Barry Bonds is that they do not go after them or prosecute them for the actual crime, but for the denial of doing it. They know they don't have enough evidence to convict them of the crime but they know that they can play on the emotions of a jury on a lesser bullshit charge and get a conviction that way.

7. Perjury is different from entering a not guilty plea as a way to get a trial.
Perjury is lying once you've been sworn in. It is a serious matter. IF he had done nothing wrong, he wouldn't have felt the need to lie under oath.

9. He was given immunity in exchange for testimony.
He gave false testimony. He's going down.

3. He wrote a book titled "If I did It" ...
Subtitled "If I took steroids, which I didn't, here's how I might have done it, even though I didn't do it, and here's what I would tell Congress, If they ask"

12. Only he admitted to taking steroids in the sealed grand jury testimony.
Edited on Fri Nov-16-07 12:57 PM by Basileus Basileon
He just claimed that he believed they were flaxseed oil and vitamin B-12 shots at the time, and that he had no links to BALCO (who had engineered the drugs specifically to his body chemistry). He later lied about that to the public, but that isn't illegal. It was his denial of links to BALCO that's doing him in.

6. THERE WAS NO CRIME!!!!
Are they saying that about Bonds too??? No? Hmm maybe Krugman is on to something here

I am sure that Bush will commute his sentence since Bush is such a man of prinicples about silly little "crimes" like perjury and obstruction of justice

15. They ran into those evil, cheating Braves
Tom Glavine could roll the ball to the plate and get a strike call, and Stan Belinda puts it right over and it's a ball. Fuck the Braves, then, now and forever.

The Pirates were great then. Van Slyke, Drabek, Smiley, Bonilla, Zane Smith, Spanky......man, good times.
