Good Morning Lounge...Are you having coffee?
I am and I'm about to go refill my cup, right after I post this!

It's a chilly, rainy day here (MA) with some gusty wind but not to bad.

My heat came on in the middle of the night and I can still hear the pipes clicking.

So, how are you today? What are your plans today? Are you ready for the 'holiday'?

I got invited to a fancy dinner, last night by my two older sisters, at a local restaurant.

None of us want to cook, it seems. I wish the rest of my brothers and sisters would join us

but I guess they've made other plans already so it'll just be the four of us.

I will be cooking a turkey dinner but probably the night before T-Day. ;)

1. Yup, just grabbed
my cuppa logged on here to check things out.

It's a balmy 21 degrees here!

Going to hit the shower soon and head off to work.

Spending Thanksgiving Day with friends, watching the Packers game, and eating some mighty fine food!

Happy cooking!

2. It's 7:22pm here.
I'm drinking Pale Pilsen and listening to music.

It was hot earlier this afternoon, but a rain shower cooled things down to about 80 degrees.

I took a jeepney to Makati and took care of some bills, then bought some smokes and took a shower to wash the pollution off. Made the water turn gray.

Took a nap, now I am awake for my favorite hours, now until 3 or 4 am.

Might go someplace for food later, I am hungry for rice and chop suey done street food style. Yummy.

4. Pale Pilsen? Where are you?
:D

Where ever it is, it sounds like a great place to be right now! :)

I don't mind the cool rainy fall to much. When it's below 30 F it bothers me.

It's 6:30 AM here.

That would be a great trip but I'm stuck here for now. Thanks for the invite though!

Are you originally from Manila or did you relocate there or are you on vacation?

9. Work sent me here
to help train in a new call center.

I liked it so much I just ... quit my job when they wanted me to come home and stayed.

:toast:

And I am so grateful to DU for keeping me in the loop. I do what I can, but it's from a distance now and online. I miss my weekly protests and my good friends, and especially my family, but this country has a degree of personal freedom I have never experienced before (not to mention 7000+ islands) and a real grasp of Democracy, and I want to see and learn as much as I can.

But you quit that training job? What do you do now?

I used to work in a call center.

Sounds like you've found your niche! That's awesome! :D

Good for you!

Cold here, too, but I'm finished with coffee for the day. If I have more than two cups, I'm so wired and shaky that I can't hold a paintbrush. :scared:

20. A big mug of chai for this chilly morning
Its sunny but cold.

I have a phone interview today and I'll be submitting my resume to some more companies.

Tomorrow is my wife's birthday so I need to wrap some gifts and make dinner reservations.

I'm not ready for thanksgiving dinner but I'm ready to see my kids, they fly home Tuesday night. My daughter is a freshman this year and has been really homesick the last few weeks.

Have a good day:hi:

21. Enjoying a nice cup of Community Dark Roast
(New Orleans Coffee) Listening to NPR. Beautiful sunny morning in South Mississippi but we do have our first frost of the season. I'll soon be off to get the fixings for Meatball Poboys for supper tonight. Will plant some Dianthus this weekend. Have to mow one more time but maybe not this weekend. Most likely will break out the Christmas decorations next week. I Hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

23. And a Good Morning to You too
You got the rain we had here in DC yesterday, it's just breezy and chilly but not a cloud in the sky and the trees are showing off a last bit of color. My kids have the day off school today and my wife teaches a Yoga Workshop this evening and all day tomorrow. I'm going to refill my coffee as soon as I'm finished writing about myself here. I'm going to review a bunch of Computer System Specifications, go to the Gym, clean up my office a bit, try to figure out what to do with the kids tomorrow and play with my 15 month old daughter. Tomorrow, we're going to go see The Polyphonic Spree and Rooney in concert. We always go to my In-Laws in New York for Thanksgiving - they're Jewish, so the whole "who do we see at Christmas" thing is moot - but this year the big feast is on Friday. My Father-In-Law is turning 70 next week as well. Funny thing, they have goose on Thanksgiving as well as a turkey because my FIL doesn't like turkey. One year, I hickory smoked a turkey, he liked that.....so did everyone else. When we lived up in NY, I did a lot of cooking, my In Laws appreciated my Southern, Soul Food style cooking. They all became nuts for Pecan Pie, Collards, and BBQ ribs. I want to say that it is very difficult to obtain Collards in Westchester, I had to go to Danbury to get them. We do Christmas at our house and I cook a Turkey and a Rib Roast and a whole bunch of other stuff....

No meat ravioli there? That's an abomination! :P You should talk to the manager at your store!

You are ambitious with six dinner guests tonight! Sounds like a great time!

I hope you have a great T-Day as well! I'll be cooking but the night before T-Day.

My teen son HAS to smell a bird cooking, even if it's just the two of us that day. ;)

32. Working on the first cup...
Was too tired to get out of bed in time to make any at home, so I had to wait until I got to work. Glad they keep the good stuff stocked!

It's cold (for Louisiana) here, too- got down to 35° this morning. Supposed to warm up to the mid 60's today- I wish I could play hooky, 'cause it's going to be a beautiful day here!

It's 41 here right now but 'feels' like 32 degree's with all the rain and wind.

The wind has picked up a lot now. :( And it's overcast.

I think it's supposed to get pretty cold here, from now on.

Glad to hear your place of work had the pot on for you!

Where else but Portland, would one have coffee and rain on an almost daily basis? ;)

The wind is calming down here now and it seems to have stopped raining. Good!

I want to get out of here for a little while without running between the drops! :P

Looks like Vermont and Northern New Hampshire are getting a good amount of snow today!
