I fell asleep with CNN on and had a dream about the debate.
In the dream, there were all of these candidates, none of which I recognized. I mean, like 20 people. We were all in an abandoned Piggly Wiggly. Everybody there was extremely quick to disavow the Iraq war and say they would bring the troops home ASAP. Also, most candidates wanted to get us out of NAFTA. I believe I was also a candidate and at one point I got into a big argument with another candidate, who was bald and wearing a brown suit. The moderator had sharp words for us. It was all slightly disturbing and weird, although I am not quite sure why. I felt slightly suffocated. Perhaps due to the 2 glasses of wine and surfeit of pizza I had before bed. Then I woke up and I had two cats sitting on my chest.

That is all. Except now I don't want to go back to sleep. :hi: Who's up?

1. Hi, crispini!
I'm gonna recommend this thread simply because it mentions Piggly Wiggly. :P

3. The last Piggly Wiggly I experienced
was in Gainesville, Fla., 1999.

Sadly, there are no Piggly Wigglies in Switzerland. :(

4. That sounds like the title of a novel or something
"There Are No Piggly Wigglies in Switzerland" by Heidi, illustrations by CMW. :D

Only Publix remains. Are you sure it was 1999? It feels longer than that.

7. Yeah, I think it was 1999.
But I could be wrong. That was one of my big world-travelin' years. :P

Hi, FloridaJudy! Do you live around Gainesville? It's one of my favorite towns in the US. :hi:

8. Yup. Gainesville's what I've called home for thirty years.
It's still pretty around here, but the summers are ferocious.

Drop by some time. We've got some great funky places to hang out.

9. I've been to a few of your funky hangouts
and some others I just drove by. Also am familiar with some of your local legends, like Tom Miller. One of my dearest friends in the world lives in Archer. :hi:

10. Oh Hell! No Way!
Me TOO!

It was cool when the debates started because there was a lot of audence participation. It was in a high school auditorium. It was like common folks at a child's recital. I got into a huge argument with Biden and an old consultant friend about the education level of the US and was escorted out of the building. I did get to shake Gore's hand though. :P

After the debate I went to a tavern that was closed, so naturally I hit the beer store. I couldnt understand the cashier, but I said "hello" and laid some money on the counter. I shared my 12-pack with a few soldiers out front.

Then I woke... good stuff!

:hi:

We are clearly both spending too much time thinking about politics lately.

I can't believe you had Al Gore in your dream! Sweeeeeeeet! :hi:
