Help! My cat is going CRAZY!!!!
He has NEVER done this before, in five years of owning him.

He is acting scared to death, running around, looking all over like something is after him. He is hiding under the couch now and will not come out! He is seriously freaking out.

We are alone in the house, he has been inside alone all day, and there is nothing weird lying around that he could have ingested.

What's wrong with my kitty...?!?!
;(

1. He's 'taking a fit'
its pretty normal, probably, but you're there. If you're worried call your vet.

3. Thanks. I've just never seen him do it.
He doesn't seem to be hurt in any way. I guess I'll just wait it out...?

5. Yeah, I'd give it a bit.
My Ion didn't take fits for a long time, and then suddenly started out of nowhere.
Sometimes, with some cats, it can be them hearing things you cant. I know Ion (again) is INCREDIBLY sensitive to high pitched noise. Whistling drives him up the wall, to the point of biting, and he's the most docile push-aroundable animal ever. Construction outside will make him LOSE it.
And sometimes he just loses it and I don't know whats wrong.
It can just... happen

2. I WOULD say you're about to have an earthquake...
...but Austin, TX isn't known for seismic activity.

Maybe there's a ghost around somewhere...

4. If by "ghost" you mean "draft" then maybe.

8. When I let my cat outside for a bit, and close the screen door between us - he
at times will feel separation anxiety and go nuts. He does a Garfield on the windsheild and plants himself on the screen with all four paws clinging on. I let him in and he is fine but my little-er cat will have become terrified ..not understanding the neuroses of his buddy.

Give it a bit.

My cat is also very scared of plastic storage bins opening and closing.

10. He can probably hear something annoying.
How's his gait? Nice and coordinated?

13. Aliens
In Whitley Strieber's Communion, he says that his cats went bonkers when the little grey men would pay a visit.

Naturally, when Pip and Brianna get the midnight crazies, I start looking over at the closet...
