After tonight, is Obama James T. Kirk? Sorry to introduce politics, but
I have to ask this here to save the trouble of getting it kicked to the lounge.

Kirk hacked into the computers before he took the Kobyashu Maru test because he didn't believe in the no win scenario. Obama refused to answer Wolf's question as asked because he believes that we can solve America's problems.

1. If more people had brilliantly made that connection like you had...
...he WOULD be Kirk.

2. What do you think: should I try asking it in GD or GD politics or
keep it here amongst ourselves?

4. They would probably mock/discredit/ignore you over there.
I know there are a few Star Trek geeks here in the Lounge. I have no doubt they exist in GD and GDP as well, but they can be so wound up over there.

Then again, you just might find some support for your theory and some applause for the great analogy.

So to answer your question, I have not given you a clear answer to your question.

6. It was after a series of questions if I recall properly.
Obama said something to the effect that he supported giving driver's licenses to illegals today and that he would work to resolve the problem of their undocumented status and get control on illegal immigration. then Wolf asked something like:

"Yes or no, do you support driver's licenses for illegals assuming that there is no change in the immigration situation.

I think Obama refused to answer the question as asked, more or less. Wolf asked a couple more questions on different subjects with the proviso that the situation couldn't be improved and Obama called him on it and accused him of being a pessimist and went on to say that he (Obama) believes that we can solve our problems.

This is all without a transcript in front of me.

7. Well, if you want to use those comparisons, I think he is closer to
Benjamin Sisko than to Kirk mainly because I don't think Michelle is like Cassidy: no scenery chewing and absolutely no alien chicks!
