In the past couple hours, my ten-year-old son has:
* brought me some apple slices he'd cut up, without me asking
* helped his little sister with her homework, also without me asking
* initiated and given me a hug
* told me he loves me
* offered to do yard work (yes, he wants a few bucks, but, still ...)

I tell ya, we're doing something right! :loveya:

5. Thanks!
:hi:

People post a lot of negative stuff here about kids, so I wanted to point out that they can be wonderful, as well!

7. Heh heh ...
I know -- sounds suspicious, huh?

He was the safety patrol in front of school today, too. He's a great kid, all around. Got elected student council rep. recently.

Jeez -- someone stop me from bragging so damn much!

3. Sounds like he's overcompensating. Probably a sign of future drug abuse issues.
Just thought I'd warn ya.

11. Barometric pressure messin' with him ...
except he's pretty much consistently a great kid, unless he's very tired. Then he gets a little grumpy, but, hey, don't we all?

15. Has the angry father of that girl left yet?

I dunno if you guys are seeing it with a ten year old boy, but my ten year old girl is now ALL kinds of crazy about the opposite gender.

I'm hearing regular comments like "...he's cute and he's so SMART!" or else, "----- and ----- are dating." I'm not sure what constitutes "dating" at the age of ten, but I'm hearing about it every night and it is creeping me out.

They are not "babies" any more!

17. I know there is some of that starting, but my son seems sort of oblivious.
Probably he's not oblivious, but is a little embarrassed. I'm fine if he holds off on the whole girl thing until well into high school! :)

My daughter, on the other hand, is another story. :eyes: She's seven, and she already has had a couple crushes.

It seems like the girls tend to be more aggressive about going after the boys.

But, that doesn't explain the other months of the year when he's a big, thoughtful sweetie ... :)

I love boys. I have two.

I love girls. I have three.

Give yourself a pat on the back for raising a nice boy.

24. Wow! That's a full house you have there!
I was happy to get at least one of each kind. They're so different and so amazing.

I think my son is going to be a fantastic dad some day. He is so nurturing.

Thanks for the compliment. :hi:

Congrats to you, as well. :toast:

25. Thanks...
I wish I could "freeze" him at this age.. Although, I must say, I've really loved every age.

He has a fantastic sense of humor, and that is only getting sharper, so he keeps us laughing, as does his sister.
