2. There are enough details in the tax code for clergy
. . . that I usually have a firm of clergy tax specialists in Colorado do my taxes. They get it right every time, no matter what I throw at them.

4. H&R Block online
Took about 20 minutes.
I got my refund about 8 calendar days from the day I filed.
I've used it for the last 5 years.
It is a really good system and usually only runs around $25.

7. Hmmm....
Too bad I already bought TurboTax. That's done really well for me for a couple of years.

I fear doing it on line would cause undue stress here, what with our 49.2kbps (at best) connection.

9. I use TAX ACT
for about 5 years now. cost 19.95 and can be downloaded from the internet. The federal e-filing is free and you can do up to 4 more returns (e-file) for 12.95 that includes your State.

On another note I worked for one of the popular tax services one year for the extra income (7 dollars hr + 20% commission on total returns filed).

They use a tax program similar to the one I use at home but they charged for every form. The fees were started at 40.00 for Federal 40.00 for State. There was an extra charge for everything, earned income credit, itimization form, schedule c, 1099's. Fees ran from 120 to over 300 depending on weather the client used the "bank services" or not.

I felt like a vulture charging top dollar to the people who can least afford it, mostly single working mothers. I sent a lot of people to the library on Saturdays to have them done for free.

Needless to say, I only made around 1000.00 for 20hr weeks through the monts of Jan - Apr. It was'nt a total loss I learned a lot via their free classes.

I barter for the service at home now with relatives mostly. My parents trade with beef, my sister trades with print cartdridges for my printer and some I still do for free.

10. the old fashioned way.
One of my sisters is a CPA. A few years ago, she did them for me. So as not to be a pest, I just kinda used the prior year's forms to figure out where the numbers go this year. Granted, I have had to send them a few more bucks once or twice, but it really just seems easiest (very relative term, actually maybe least difficult is more appropriate) that way...Kevin.

11. I did my federal on Saturday monring
my job allowed me to actually download my W-2 info, and I used my Turbotax for the actual filing. I'll do the same for my VA state tax return. Nice and easy.

13. Your question assumes I haven't done my taxes yet.
:D

My taxes are painfully simple, so I use Form 1040EZ Telefile. Takes me all of 5 minutes. I'll have my refund direct-deposited into my savings account.
