3. Sorry to hear you're depressed.
I'm extremely pissed off at myself for my own damn astronomically disturbed f'd up stupidity. Check out Deepak Chopra's I think the video is soul of healing which claims that there are 5 i think senses and that you can "heal yourself" thru' various alternative techniques it's sort of like giving yourself a mini-spa using the senses kind of thing I guess. That is to say should every little bit help. The other thing to look into is (i forget her first name) Kubler Ross 7 stages of grief. But perhaps the best thing to get rid of depression is to get out and be with people or just get out. Things could always be worse btw.

6. Deepak Chopra?
Stuart Smalley with an overlay of Hindu mysticism. Meh.

But hey, if it works for you, terrific.

10. This one is about alternative medicine. massage therapy and the like.
You take from it what helps. There's also an alternative breathing technique which seems to work. Like maybe blowing into a paper bag might help people relax. So there's good stuff in there that shouldn't be ignored.

11. Room for both approaches
There is a lot to be said about alternative approaches. Meditation/relaxation techniques have begun to gain some acceptance in mainstream circles, and I know people who have had great succes with accupuncture and accupressure.

There is still something to be said about good old fashioned psychopharmaceutical carpet-bombing, though. Sometimes the serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine levels won't respond to anything other than a strong SNRI.

12. Ya but sometimes people relentlessly keep changing their cocktail and it still doesn't work

Thus All approaches need to be included. And alot can be said for just changing your basic mindset by thinking that you can't fix everything in your life, nobody's perfect, go with the flow, tomorrow everything your worried about could change- even your love life or you may even find a new job, etc.... If there's some major ptsd event then I think that would necessitate the usage of psychopharmaceuticals.

But I'm no dr.

:*

I kid, I kid. (good thing I don't adult, adult...)

 I am by and large back on track. I only wish I was on these meds a year ago; there was a contest for an internship on a news channel, which came up suspiciously after I had made a post saying I was thinking of entering journalism as a career. I regret not having gone through with it, but have hopes another opportunity will come up. There are plenty of organizations out there. Stupidity on my part; I now know better that when an opportunity comes, bloody well take it!!

Except Huffington; rumor has it they don't pay their journalists... :(

13. I am on four anti-depressants
I wouldn't make it without them. When I originally started taking them years ago,my ex made me quit. It was terrible. But I am now back on them and it really makes a difference.
