My house has catnip all over place
UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

It's a freaking mess, there's even catnip in my bed!

I bought one of those cardboard scratchers from the pet store and the toy had a small bag of catnip in it.

Now I ended up staying overnight at a friend's house last night and I forgot all about the toy, which I had never opened up and put out for Abbie. So the toy was sitting in a bag on my sofa. He managed to get the thing out of the bag and rip open this toy and get to the bag of catnip. And then he must have tugged that bag of catnip somewhere because there is catnip EVERYWHERE.

Should I be calling the Betty Ford clinic for cats addicted to cat nip?

1. No but invest in a dust buster
The cardboard scratechers are great...they will keep him from destroying your house.

2. My cat learned to
...open the kitchen cabinet door behind which was hidden the catnip. I can't keep it in the medicine cabinet either. Clever little gremlin.

3. a neater way for Abbie to enjoy his 'nip
I pour it into old socks with no holes and tie a knot at the top of the sock. No mess but Abbie will get the same amount of fun.

(You can buy catnip in two-ounce tubs -- a tub is the size of a quart-tub of sour cream. Two ounces is a LOT of 'nip!)

My Boys can sniff catnip out a mile away. I forgot it in a grocery bag on the floor one day with some dry goods and I fell asleep and I woke up to a Catnip storm and a fight going on between my boys over the bag.

Catnip is hard to get up I feel for you.

How about Catnip type AA meetings for Kitty's?

8. I keep catnip in the freezer.
It's the only safe place.

I also grow some in a pot outside, but the neighborhood cats are always rolling in it and thus depriving my indoor cats of fresh nip.

9. I remember a friend giving me a big bag of "homegrown"
catnip, that is. Driving home that evening, I was petrified I'd be stopped by a cop. "yeah, sure, that's catnip. Uh huh." The stuff was all these big greasy buds - and the cats about went straight to kitty heaven when I walked in the house. They were sniffing every inch of me like mad bastards.

Here's some catnip frenzy pictures. The poor omega cat, Tristan, got quickly forced away from the good stuff, and Cappy was only about 4 months old at the time:
