I went out last night with MrLaraMN and about half a dozen of our guy friends. We went to see a play that another of our friends was in, hit a greasy dive for burgers, and then hit a nicer pub for drinks.

I love going out with my girlfriends too, but my guy friends and I can exchange taunts and insults, and everyone laughs; no one gets their feelings hurt. I can be completely course, and none of them even blinks. I can't do that with some of my female friends; definitely not in a large group. They always give me hugs and remind my husband that he has "the best wife EVER." I laughed my ass off all night. It was so much fun!

There's just something especially cool about being "one of the guys," once in a while...

At one point, we were making a venue change and trying to decide where to go next. "The boys" announced that we should go to a bar, wherein I could "hook them up" with some women. I asked them how they proposed that I would do this, and they said I would "vouch", by standing next to them and nodding at women, to indicate that they were available and worthy goods.

I told them I was not a miracle worker.

It has caused some problems with people not understanding about being friends, but other than that, pretty cool.

When I'm around women/girls who are very feminine, I usually start to feel restless/bound/uncertain. I'm just not made to be a girly-girl. :D
