I'm going to print out some slogans and stuff about democracy and keeping ours safe...could you send me ideas? I need ideas and the URLs of where to print them. And I know you guys are the people to ask when it comes to stuff like this...Oh, I'm going to put them on our Dorm room door...To educate the freepers in this dorm. So many of them are COMPLETELY uneducated.

2. One of my favorites
The best way to tell the difference between a liberal and a conservative:

A liberal wraps himself in the constitution and burns the flag.
A conservative wraps himself in the flag and burns the constitution.

For 24 years I swore to support and defend the Constitution. It is a shame that I must now strive to minimize the effects of conservatism on my country to achieve that task.

5. interesting stats
I always thought a copy of the constitution would be a good start. I think talking to people about their views is always worth a shot, too. Give them some info to read, recent books by Moore, Franken, Paul Krugman (Is that his name, the economist). Maybe a poster of the latest Dem punk/rocker... no names come to mind, unfortunately. Since I don't know whom the "college- aged" listen to these days. Are any of those emo/screamerpunks political?

6. Hit them with the icons
http://www.theodoreroosevelt.org/life/quotes.htm

"The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."
Theodore Roosevelt

"Observe good faith and justice toward all Nations. Cultivate peace and harmony with all. Religion and morality enjoin this conduct; and can it be that good policy does not equally enjoin it? It will be worthy of a free, enlightened, and at no distant period, a great Nation to give to mankind the magnanimous and too novel example of a People always guided by an exalted justice and benevolence."
Geoerge Washington

"Mad Kings and mad bulls, are not to be held with treaties and packthread."
Benjamin Franklin

"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
Benjamin Franklin

"The best weapon of a dictatorship is secrecy; the best weapon of a democracy is openness."
Edvard Teller

"A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his government."
Edward Abbey

"If we advert to the nature of republican government, we shall find that the censorial power is in the people over the government, and not in the government over the people."

James Madison

7. go to this site to create bumper stickers
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 01:46 PM by Bertha Venation
http://www.makestickers.com

You have to buy the stickers OR, if you're so inclined, 1. do a screen capture 2. paste into Paint or other program 3. C/P the sticker & transfer to your favorite other program for printing.

It's where I created the "over my dead body" tag in my sig line.
