I actually watched the whole thing this year without being bored to tears. I was shocked. And to think I almost skipped it all together this year. (Well ok so it still wouldn't have been missing much).

One aspect you didn't mention is the Bush aspect though.
We had commercials from the white house (drugs stuff). We had * himself being "interviewed". Several NASA and moon mission references. It was in Houston of course. And they refused to air the moveon.org ad.

I thought maybe they should just call it the Bush Re-election Commercial Bowl.
