What's your next big purchase?
We are buying a digital video projector - we have one currently that belongs to my husband's company, but we need to return it soon and we realized we don't want to live without it! 60" "screen" (really just a blank wall) and perfect HD quality - it doesn't even need to be dark! We never watch regular TV anymore.

We also want to get the Canon Digital Rebel as our next digital camera.

What's the next big thing you want to buy?

7. LOL!
I just got married in August, and the whole thing was less than 3K, but we wanted it small and simple, so that's why. I know it can get VERY expensive!! Good luck! :D

41. I purchased a Sanyo Z2 on eBay about a year and a half ago
I was told the bulb had about 1500 hours on it when I got it, and I've put probably another 2000 on it since then. The light has been on for quite some time telling me to replace the bulb, but it's still going very strong. I hope it remains that way because it costs about $280 to replace. They say that the bulb is good for about 3000 hours or so, but I think if you take good care of it and allow it to cool properly before turning on again, they can last much longer than that. I've heard of some lasting upwards of 8000 hours. Overall, it's a very good value if you're into big screens. I've got mine projected onto a 100" widescreen ($80 from Tigerdirect.com) and the projector itself only cost $500 used. So for under $600, I've got a 100" HD picture that looks absolutely amazing if the lighting conditions are right (in the morning and when the sun is really intense and the curtains don't block it all out, the picture can get washed out). They have 100" plasmas and LCDs, but they're typically more than $50,000, so a bit out of my price range. If you're looking for a good HD projector, I can't recommend the Sanyo Z series enough.

8. Couch, love seat, chairs....
We're not buying each other any xmas presents this year. Instead, the house is getting "presents". I've never bought furniture before. Everything's always been given to me or was my roommate's. Should be fun.

10. That's what we're doing re: Christmas presents
The projector will be our xmas present to each other. We were going to get a GPS (we're both hopeless with directions!) but we want the projector more, heh.

Have fun buying furniture! We pretty much got everything at IKEA - they do have some nice stuff!

19. They have delivery now too
We got a really nice couch - not like one of those futon frame cheapo looking things. Lemme see if I can find a pic...

That's similar to what we got, only the fabric was nicer, a pretty taupe color with cream piping. Very tailored and classic looking. We also got our coffee table, armchair, and shelving there.

9. Something to replace my minivan.
Edited on Thu Nov-08-07 12:52 PM by LaraMN
Preferably a vehicle that doesn't make scary scraping sounds, has two working turn signals, two functional wiper blades, does not have a perpetually-on engine light, and isn't leaking and burning oil.

Of course, any vehicle lacking even one of the aforementioned flaws would be an upgrade.

29. We've just done small trips so far
A few camping trips around Ohio. It is so much fun... It doesn't like hills or going above 55 mph, but at least we get to appreciate the scenery!

The big plan is we're going to convert it to run on veggie oil this winter (it's a diesel, so it should be easy... famous last words). Then we're taking it on the road for our honeymoon next fall! Not sure how much time we'll have, so we haven't planned the route, but i'm already excited! :D

32. Probably a 42" LCD Widescreen TV
I would rather it be new counter top and stainless steel sink in my kitchen.

I have a counter top of white 3 x 3 tile (like in the photo). The grout is almost impossible to keep clean. Only advantage is I can take things right out of the oven and put it on the counter without using a trivet.

And my sink is cast iron with porcelain enamel, it is scraped and scratched beyond being able to make it look good.
