Today is Feb 2...so what?
Well, the first Groundhog Day was celebrated Feb. 2, 1887. It's the birthday of Ayn Rand, author; Tommy Smothers, comedian; James Joyce, author; Jascha Heifetz, musician; Nell Gwyn, king's whore; Liz Smith, gossip. Hitler dissolved the German Parliament on Feb. 2, 1933. The first electric streetlight (to my knowledge) went on in 1880. Various religions celebrate today as Candlemas.
