A thought that I had while watching the silly man on the moon opener
Edited on Mon Feb-02-04 12:32 AM by MrsGrumpy
to the Super Bowl:

How effective would it have been to run the names of all of the soldiers killed since March 19,03?

Remember the SuperBowl after 9/11? When Bono sang and the names of the dead were scrolled behind him?

I think that would have been a lot more poignant than a giant foam rock and an actor in a space suit.

1. And how ineffective it is to copy?
I agree with you to a lil extent but this was the anniversery of the challenger explosion. I think That that is a worthwhile thing to commemerate. They also died for service to thier country.

2. Which could have been done as well...but I think people need to
be made aware that finding Hussein did not equal end of war. :hi:

3. I think people are aware of that...MrsGrumpy
So we shouldnt acknowledge other great accomplishments or saddening sorrows on the date that they happened? They only have limited time during halftime?

4. Nope, I don't think they are aware of it at all. Not in these parts.
Sorry. :hi:

We need to bring our troops home, and it's effectively been swept under the table. I don't see a tableux of the moon landing as an effective tribute to those who were lost in the Challenger break up either.

If Bush had had a hand in it...it would have been mars.
