is there anyway to clean up a bad driving record?
i mean, short of waiting it out?

i used to be a very aggressive and fast driver and have a lot of tickets on my record to prove it...though my personality as a whole has completely calmed down since then and i no longer drive like that. unfortunately a job i really want to get requires a good record and i can't just go in there and say, "hey don't worry, that was a fluke, i don't drive like that anymore i promise..."

is there a class i can take? anything that can be done?

1. I had a lawyer fix a speeding ticket one time
She was able to do it even though I had already paid the fine and it was several months after the incident. She got a major speeding ticket turned into a busted tail light violation. I don't know if that will work for multiple violations, though. And it cost me $500 for the lawyer. It was worth it in my case, but it may not be for you as it will undoubtedly cost you more than that to get multiple violations cleared up.

Looks like you can knock a few points off.

4. Become governor of your state
Then your records mysteriously vanish, your DL number becomes 000000001, and if you're lucky and well-connected, the Supreme Court annoints you Pretzelnit.

Oh, and you can snort all the coke you can get your hands on.

7. Get a l33t hacker to break into the DMV computers
Or date a lady who works there.

That aside, I couldn't tell ya.

neither of those ideas are likely to work (unless you wanna add felony charges to your c.v. in addition to speeding tickets).

9. usually, the BMV offers a course that will take some demerit points off your record...
... if you complete it.

Aside from that, I think you just have to let the demerits age and die on their own. They do that, you know.

Also, you get credit for infractionless driving. I'm not sure how much, exactly.

So I think there might be some patience involved before you can get apply for that job, unless the demerits have already aged off your record.

(Of course, the particulars depend on the rules in your state.)
