I just ate at the Olive Garden for the first time in my life - ask me anything
It was my neighbor's idea to go there, and she was paying, so....

1. What did you get?
My favorite is the unlimited bread sticks, soup, and salad combo. Mmm...

What? So I like the Olive Garden. So sue me!

4. We had:
Appetizer sampler which included stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and one other thing which I didn't take. The appetizer Artichoke Dip. Salad which they kept refilling. Breadsticks which they kept refilling. I had the stuffed chicken florentine which was a stuffed chicken breast, with some pasta on the side. Lemon cream cake and chocolate torta with strawberries. Iced tea. Andes mints. That is definitely not a place to go if you're on a diet...

8. The odd thing is that the neighbor who took me there also recently took me to
a bonafide mom-n-pop Italian restaurant in La Mesa, called "Tiramisu," and the food is better than the Olive Garden, but today she said, "I'm cravin' Olive Garden today." But she knows authentic Italian food, so I don't get it. She's having surgery tomorrow.

9. Eh, maybe she just needed something different
There's a Mexican restaurant that I really like around where I live. But there is another one that I like, but don't like as much. Sometimes I will go to the second place if I've eaten at the first place the last couple of times I've gone out.

10. Did you like the food?
You listed what you ordered, but didn't say if it was any good.

I went once to a new one that opened here. I had some ravioli dish that was pretty good. We got take out once as well. I got the eggplant parm. I didn't like it.

12. I liked the food fine, but every bite was accompanied with "DU Lounge Guilt"
"What would the DU Lounge think if they knew I was eating here?" The food was good but still just corporate-chain-restaurant food, it didn't have that mom-n-pop precise esculence to it or any highfalutin' gourmet style and adventurousness.

24. Screw that. Life is too short.
..for me to worry about what people will think about where I ate. My girlfriends and I love to get together over the breadsticks and wine (we buy it by the bottle); and since I only have two friends period, it's worth the guilt for the time well spent.

The sangria is pretty good also.

32. Did he take your "Liberal Agenda" ID card?
Edited on Mon Nov-05-07 10:33 AM by NewJeffCT
I heard he's a pretty good shot with the Taser!

If not, please return it to the address marked on the back of the card or to the next breastfeeding mom with a pit bull that you see.

When I went there in April, I had the Stuffed Chicken Marsala with a glass of Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay. It was good!

29. They must put salt in everything, because I didn't have to put it on anything.
But I don't put salt on anything anyway. I think it's just average for a restaurant.
