MAC users - can the mighty mouse be opened?

My scroll button on top doesn't work going up or down; it does scroll side to side.

I have an old Windows mouse where you could unscrew it to take out the mouse ball, I just don't want to wreck my MAC mouse anymore than it is. This is a wired one. Maybe I should spring for a wireless.

1. Judging by these customer reviews, it sounds like a common bug.

One of them says that it can be cracked open with a screwdriver.

for the problem you are having.. get some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and clean the little ball. this works...really.

4. Very common.. have you tried a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol?
