1. Well, maybe if you quit smoking....

My mom was sick all the time...hard core smoker, didn't believe anything bad about it....She quit after having infection after infection after infection....And within a week, she could tell the difference. And she's holding strong despite having lost everything in a flood. I hope you start to feel better soon. Hope you guys quit smoking soon too. You guys are wayyy too cool to have your lives cut short by smoking related illness.
Sorry to get on the soapbox. My dad died of Smoking Related Illnesses.

2. Ugh, I'm not even responding to that...

Yeah, I'm a big girl who knows she needs to quit smoking. I also know that I rarely get sick, except for when I'm under severe stress, which I am pretty much 24-7 lately. My Mom is dying, my Dad is terminally ill as well. I'm a newlywed Senior in college. Stress is my domain, I'm afraid, and it caught up with me. That and riding the subway every day and being in the school environment.

Ok, I apologize. I'm cranky from being sick with this nasty cold. :(

We are planning on quitting...Hopefully over Thanksgiving. We want to have a baby soon, and that comes first. :)

May I recommend something that might prevent the next one? Have you heard of Airborne? It was developed by an elementary school teacher and is now the favorite of millions of people. It's a fizzy tablet or powder that you drop in a small cup of water and drink. There are flavors such as yummy pink grapefruit and lemon lime and grape and orange. It's full of echinacea and other stuff. And it really, really works. You can take one daily to avoid infection, or wait until you get a symptom and start.

Been there, done that. However, since I started taking garlic OIL capsul for preventative measures (at night, so I don't smell like a pizza the next day), I have had few bouts. When I start feeling like something may be coming on, I double my dose. Clears it up in no time. Garlic is one of Nature's best, all around anti-biotics. Get well soon.
