WTF?? My Idiot neighbors have a...
small fake pre-lit Christmas tree on their porch. I was hoping it would blow away today! No such luck...:(

1. I was in a local Sears two weeks ago tomorrow.
They had lots of Christmas stuff for sale. I saw a sales associate in that section and said something to the effect of "But it's not even Halloween yet". He rolled his eyes, agreed and said it'd been up for several weeks already.

Today, I was in the local CVS (Walgreen-type pharmacy if they don't have them in your area) and they had several aisles full of Christmas stuff. I gave them the evil eye. I still have three family birthdays to get through this month, plus a baby shower for my niece-in-law.

2. I love Christmas, but don't want it shoved
down my throat before Thanksgiving. By next week the whole yard will be lit up enough to land a jet by. I went into Linen n things a couple weeks ago and they had their Christmas stuff out too! Please people not before Halloween!!!

3. I feel the same way....
But cannot stop the commercialization of a very important holiday.

Oddly enough, I never mind seeing summer stuff in stores when there is still snow on the ground. That is the typical northerner's longing for spring.

5. Christmas displays have been up in our major supermarket for months
The big supermarket chain here, Wegmans (look for Wegmans products in use by folks on The Office! :eyes:), has had their fake trees up in the entryway of each store since September. To head off complaints, they have a posterboard propped up by the trees that says something to the effect of "Some of our customers prefer to shop for Christmas items early..." etc. etc. etc. which just translates into "shaddap and don't complain because somebody out there likes it." I suspect those people are totally fictional, like those Faux News reports where "SOME PEOPLE say..."

11. Wish I could, but it's pretty much the only game in town
They're monsters around here. Total monopoly. The second-largest supermarket chain can't touch them--their prices are higher and their food quality is poorer than the "big guy". We're stuck. They do have a lot of good features, but day-um, I hate walking past those stupid artificial trees every time I go in... :hi:

7. If we weren't having "severe weather" today
I'm sure matcom would have been out there bitching up a storm. I wish you all could have seen his face when I told him about the tree..."Priceless" is an understatement!

9. Why not let them have and enjoy it, and you not worry about it? Just a thought.

14. Wally World had the Christmas Candy all out
An entire aisle full of it, except for the last three or four sections, which were full of discounted Halloween candy.

At least in the decorations section they didn't have any for sale yet.
