Commercials: used to be creative, tonight they were a bunch of 30 second shorts with people being mean and/or humiliated. Even the Chevy (soap-mouth) commercial, which was kinda cute, featured kids being humiliated (said from personal experience :)
the game: bored the shit out of everyone watching with a few exceptional moments. Notable - seeing the two NE guys smash into each other when the CA receiver jumped out of the way. Part of the problem was that we liked, but weren't in love with, NE. A bigger factor was that neither team was loathed.
Half-time. Okay, I never was very excited about it to begin with, but for the love of god, will someone please take MTV out of it and take away the hype. At least when it was Barry Manilow, no one pretended HT was something you HAD to watch. And Janet's boob shot was about as shocking and spontaneous as Madonna & Britney's kiss.
Coda: CBS wins the crapper award for refusing to air the MoveOn spot. Last week I was defending them, cause 'Child's Pay' (it's for the chiiiiiiildren) didn't belong in the Super Bowl, where "What if Our Parents Were Bush" was more fitting for the time slot. Their "we don't do issues" rang like the hollow bell it is when you consider the Phillip Morris "it's for the chiiiiiiildren" ad that ran.
