a girl shown passed out/dead drunk and rewinds through her day and all the drinking/smoking (didn't look like that much to me) she'd done and saying that parents can stop it.

Not that I'm attacking your opinion in any way but I'm totally neutral to the concept of anti alcohol/drug ads. I'm extremely curious as to what you see wrong with them.

The others in this series including a young girl drowning, an abandoned child, and a car full of stoned teenagers hitting a little girl on a biker, allowing a rape to happen, kids playing with guns. All of which are DIRECTLY and UNEQUIVOCALLY related to Drug use.

These ads are ineffective to curbing drug use, are unecessary scare tactics and have very little basis in fact.

I've seen all of these commercials and not really had a problem with them. In fact the one beef I have with them that you didn't mention is that it encourages parents not to trust their kids.
