Zero Trick -Or-Treaters
None. Zip.

Left porch light on, always have "good" candy bars (no candy corn here!). But almost every house on the street is dark and there are very few kids in the neighborhood.

The candy is MINE.

1. Had to go to a meeting
So I left a big bowl of candy on my front porch. When I came back it was gone -- really gone. Bowl and all. Thank goodness it was a bowl from the $1 store.

But someone left a really nice dog toy in its place. I just hope it wasn't a dog that took the candy. It wouldn't have killed him (it was milk chocolate, not dark chocolate), but he'd have a heckuva bellyache tomorrow.

2. We had more than usual this year
but still a paltry number. Also this year, there was still candy in the bowl we left on the porch when we got back from a screening of Nosferatu. Usually it's all gone. Shit, now we have eat it. Fuck.

5. Not a single one here...I guess I live on the wrong side of town.
It was like a street fair on the other side of Ventura Blvd. Kids, animals and adults all in the middle of the streets and cars lined up for days.

I quit giving out candy years ago and have stuck to small boxes of crayons or little coloring books.

6. We only had a few here too, and when we were out with the kids it was pretty quiet.
That makes me sad. Halloween was so festive and noisy when I was a kid and there were dozens and dozens of us roving the neighborhood.

8. Halloween was great! Lots of kids and they loved having their pictures taken...
There were only 3 pieces of chocolate left for me, and that's because I turned the lights out at 9:30pm.
The picture doesn't show the huge black spider at the front of the house. The kids liked walking through
the spider web to get to the door. Ah, great fun.
