5. Sounds like an excellent choice
I have been thinking of hunting a recipe for a warm to hot toddy for these chilly evenings. Cant be too potent. Liquor makes my lips loose and I wake up under the bed.

:P

Edited on Wed Oct-31-07 04:30 PM by Breeze54

You must be in the 'boonie-boonies'! We call them "packies" up here. :P

I think this small town has 3 packies and a convenience store that sells beer & wine.

That's a lot of booze for a small town!

35. I made the NYT bread and had some leftover taters from last nights
Edited on Wed Oct-31-07 07:25 PM by AZDemDist6
BBQ, so I peeled up the rest of the 5 lb bag of spuds (5 medium spuds were left) and made a killer potato stew

5 slices of bacon (cut in small pieces) and fried it up with some dehydrated onion (I forgot to buy onions! :banghead: ) and a couple stalks of celery

when the bacon was crisp, I added 5 spuds finely cubed and some cut up carrots to a can of chicken broth and about 3 cups of water. added black pepper, season salt, about a tsp of tarragon and some Mrs.Dash. let it cook till the taters were soft, mashed em up a bit and added the broasted taters chunks from yesterday with about 1/2 cup of milk, let it cook down a bit more and served it with the fresh homemade bread

it was tasty!

edit to add, I did cook it in my 'cauldron' too, thought I had a pic but I don't. It's a 6 qt cast iron dutch oven
