We're in a 'mature' neighborhood and hardly get any kids anyway, but I'm sick of the teenagers trick-or-treating and/or big minivan caravans coming in from elsewhere just to scour the neighborhood.

Halloween is fun, and anyhow I don't want to be the neighborhood meanie. Besides that, if there's any candy left over I get to eat it.

but I'm alone in my house, too, and I've never had any qualms about opening the door for kids on Halloween. Most of the little ones are gone by about 8:00 anyhow. If anybody came by late at night I wouldn't open the door, but that's never been a problem.

CARRY ON with the shiny prizes :D All the treat bags I made have plastic, almost swallow-size ants in them. The parents will probably sort through the stuff before the kids eat it.. probably }(
