Poll question: Would you buy a pregnancy test kit at the dollar store?
Edited on Mon Oct-29-07 11:21 PM by u4ic
The one near me has a ton of them. One of the more bizarre things I've seen there.

Please note I am not asking for advice! :P

2. My dear u4ic...
I'm waaaaaaaaay past needing one of these!

But....why wouldn't you buy one there?

Would you be worried about how accurate it might be?

:wtf:

9. Hi Peggy!

Yes, that's what I mean - after all, getting a cheap spatula is one thing, but something that could potentially have some dire consequences if it turns out to be wrong...?

26. Well, if skilfully used, a cheap spatula could help prevent pregnancy.
I'm just saying...

3. Would this test consist of a...
Piece of cardboard and a small Sharpie marker to add your own one or two lines when you decide if you're pregnant or not?

15. I think the coin is in the deluxe version
If it comes with a quarter, the deluxe version costs $1.25.

18. Sure. They're actually some of the better tests, in terms of sensitivity
AimStick tests are a bit more sensitive but you have to order those 'cause they're generally for doctor's offices. Anyhow, the added sensitivity only matters for very early detection (ie before your menses are due.)

19. Why not.. You're not gonna eat it.. just piss on it and see what it says
If it shows something you don't want to see, go to Walgreens and do a follow up test..

Most of the women I know who have used them, do the test at least 3 times anyway..and then run to the doctor within the week for real confirmations:)

23. Well, it's a dollar Canadian
Which is like nine dollars US. Or something. So it's probably a really good test!

:P

On a somewhat more serious note, I wouldn't. I mean, it might be a pregnancy test for a yak or something like that.

25. Hell, no!!!! (repeat "!" as needed)
I'm a guy and the chances of me getting pregnant are zero, as are my chances of getting somebody pregnant (pretty hard for a gay male to do that).

27. Seriously--I did.
I bought a pregnancy test at the Family Dollar years and years ago. It worked fine. I got a correct positive result at a mere 4 weeks along.

30. I'd buy a bunch of them
and then as a prank leave empty boxes in my friends' bathrooms.

Ok, I wouldn't really do that but it would be kind of funny to see the hijinx that would ensue.
