People have claimed that I overreact and blame Dubya for every little thing that goes wrong, so I've tried to cut back a bit. But this time it really was him! That thing in the energy bill to extend DST by another week, that is. I came in and checked the clock in the hallway, then started to catch up on paperwork (and there was a lot of it, because I'm covering for someone who's off sick this week). After a while, the secretary came into my office and told me that I had a class (I teach at a college). I was stunned, because the clock outside said I had a whole extra hour to go.
Well, apparently they had tried hand-adjusting the clock after the computer system automatically moved it forward this weekend, and somebody had botched it big-time. Only nobody put a sign up on it as a warning. Good thing I had all my notes ready to go -- the kids had been waiting for me for 10 minutes.
Ironically, I'm not even American -- I'm in Canada -- and we still had to follow Bush's rules because our economies are so tightly coupled together.
Anybody else inconvenienced by the (lack of) time change?
