Emails and bad timing....Anyone ever had this happen?

Your pissed off and you send a friend an email say a week ago and kind of bitch them out.

You talk to them after you send the emails and you figure everything is alright and you make plans with that person to go out of town.

And then they read the email from a week ago and get pissed at you all over again. And then you are pissed at that person all over again for being pissed at you.

I just sent out some emails that I can't get back and I wish that I wouldn't have. Why do I have such a high temper? Could it be because I am a red head.

I would call that bad timing of an email that should have been deleted but it shouldn't been sent either.

1. I've done that with DU posts

And later I kick myself and say, "Did I really post that?" I try to impose a 24-hour timeout if I know I'm really steaming, especially with emails. Always hold a rant for a day. If it still sounds acceptable in the harsh light of morning, fire away.

3. Definitely yes. We all have. 48 hours of cooling is required.

I have found that overnight is not enough. Write it, save as draft. DO NOT SEND. Next day, rewrite, save as draft. DO NOT SEND. Next day, rewrite. If you still want to, send.

It will be much better written that way, too. Far less misunderstandings.

4. I have an e-mail address

where I send those types of angry e-mails to. If I still feel the same way the next day, then I can just forward it or change it a bit. It doesn't happen often, but just sort of a safety net after it happened to me once.
