I saw a bit of a Doumainian era SNL ep last night.

Our NBC affiliate airs old episodes of SNL every Sunday Morning at 3:30 AM. The episode they had on last night was one from the 1980-81 season. I could only get throught two sketches, it was so horrible. I saw the worst Reagan impression ever. Uggh.. it was so bad i felt like I had to take a shower afterwards. :puke:

From what I've been told, Doumainian still thinks she did a good job.

I've NEVER seen worse garbage than is on this year

last night's show was unwatchable, from DHammond's HORRID Bush (what's happened to him...his Schwarzenegger is the WORST.....I can do a better ahnold than he does......ANYbody can)

80-81, while wretched, had its moments....not very many, but more than this season has, and I've seen every one, read most of the books, including Tom Shales' recent oral history....EVERYbody hates Chevy Chase.

there are a few funny people on, but they don't get much exposure.

Jimmy Fallon is on all the time, and he can't do anything but mug/preen.

that's what most of the "acting" is comprised of.

and the WRITING! god.....ineffably bad. NOT marvelously bad, like Bad Red Chinese Opera.

An actor on Saturday Night Live. Is responsible for dragging Weekend Update down to its unfunniest levels since the Doumainian-run episodes of the early Eighties. His inablility to succesufully deliver jokes completley kills the humor and does nothing but make Tina Fey (who ranks as one of the better WU anchors in SNL history) look bad. A prime example of what can happen when a person is chosen to do an integral portion of a television show based entilrey on popularity, not on comedic ability.

now.....my brother worked with Murray on a road construction crew in 1969....got to know him a little bit. said he was able to get out of doing all the hard jobs cause he was so funny/charming.
