Super Bowl Progaganda
And the bad thing is I have to go to a Super Bowl party that is filled with right wing ex-military Bush lovers. I am going to be the only leftist there. How I'm going to endure this, I have no idea. Maybe I'll mention to the partygoers that perhaps they should have a moment of silence for the 8,000+ Iraqis killed in this "War of Liberation".

Wish me luck, DU'ers!!

----------------------------------------
U.S. Army aviation assets will help kickoff America's most-watched annual sporting event Feb. 1, when four Apache helicopters fly over Reliant Stadium in Houston prior to Super Bowl XXXVIII.

The retractable-roof stadium will be open and plans call for the helicopters to appear following the National Anthem, Army officials said.

CBS Sports officials said they will televise members of the military stationed in Baghdad watching the game. More than 800,000 servicemen and women in 165 countries will be able to watch the game on the American Armed Forces Radio and Television Service.

is going to be closed, and not on account of security concerns but the weather.

40-60% chance of showers by game time.

Anyway, good luck maintaining a stiff upper lip as well as holding your dominion.

2. Talk football
if anyone brings up the Shrub, eagerly ask if they've contributed to the local Guard fund to get the guys decent body armor and stuff. Go on and on about the brave soldiers having to eat in dirty Haliburton kitchens, and that the wounded ones come back to no health insurance after 30 days. Keep stressing the plight of the Guard and Reserve, and see what they say. Bet not one of them brings up the Shrub.

4. The superbowl is merely a boring impotent fertility ritual to me
so I wont watch it...Id rather eat worms then watch that corporate crap.
so its not hard to boycott it.
Unfortunately, a lot of people will, and get even more brainwashed by the US media and blackout of the truth by CBS whores.

7. I can't stand football, don't understand it
But, I gotta watch this one...hopefully it will go by really fast, and there will be a good halftime-

Too bad the only Superbowl I have ever watched all the way through is going on with that jackass in the WH.

Like their doing to us in Iraq. I can't believe this,MoveOn can't run a simple freakin ad about Bush and his trillion $$$$ deficit but Halliburton can run ads,Military strength can be shown, and yet another of those inflammatory "If you smoke dope you killed 3000 in NY" type of BS commercials.

Yeah,Liberal media at it once again....

6. You might be surprised...

A lot of ex-military and conservative minded folk are waking up to how damaging this administration is, not only to long term military viability, but to the nation as a whole. Bush's cutbacks on veteran benefits, hazardous duty pay (during an active conflict) and his supporters claims of his "war heroic nature" despite his well know, um, lackluster National Guard stint, have all really cracked open some military eyes.

You might find at least a couple of those ex-military guys have jumped to your side of the issues.

I was at a recent repeating party where there's usually a pretty even mix of pro/anti bushies. At this latest party ALL the formerly pro bushies had woken up and were anti bush.

Still holding my breath, but the nation seems to be waking out of it's 9/11 zombie state.

9. A scary thing. The superbowl is in TEXAS this year!
I like football, but I wouldn't go there if someone paid me to go. Strange things happen in Texas.

the hell with it. Kids are dying every day. I have no qualms about cutting off everyone in my life, including relatives and others, who vote or support the regime in the WH.
Its life and death now. I cant stand being around people who are in deep denial.
edit to add: I respect the constitutional right of everyone to believe whatever they want.
I also respect my right to completely avoid people who are NOT good for me or the safety and well being of my loved ones and my country.
