Blondie: Acceptable predatory stalking b/c it's sung by a woman?
Check this out. If it were a man singing it, wouldn't you find it creepy?

One Way or Another (1978)

One way or another, I'm gonna find ya.
I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha.
One way or another, I'm gonna win ya.
I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha.
One way or another, I'm gonna see ya.
I'm gonna meetcha, meetcha, meetcha, meetcha.
One day, maybe next week, I'm gonna meetcha.
I'm gonna meetcha, I'll meetcha.
I will drive past your house, and if the lights are all down I'll see who's around.
One way or another, I'm gonna find ya.
I'm gonna getcha, getcha, getcha, getcha.
One way or another, I'm gonna win ya.
I'll getcha, I'll getcha.
One way or another, I'm gonna see ya.
I'm gonna meetcha, meetcha, meetcha, meetcha.
One day, maybe next week, I'm gonna meetcha.
I'll meetcha, ah.
And if the lights are all out, I'll follow your bus downtown, see who's hangin' out.
One way or another I'm gonna lose ya.
I'm gonna give you the slip.
A slip of the lip, or another, I'm gonna lose ya.
I'm gonna trick ya, I'll trick ya.
One way or another I'm gonna lose ya.
I'm gonna trick ya, trick ya, trick ya, trick ya.
One way or another, I'm gonna lose ya.
I'm gonna give you the slip.
I'll walk down the mall, stand over by the wall, where I can see it all, find out who ya call.
Lead you to the supermarket, check out some specials and rat food.
Get lost in the crowd.
One way or another, I'm gonna getcha.
I'll getcha.
I'll getcha getcha getcha getcha.
Where I can see it all, find out who ya call.

1. The thing is, most men LIKE the idea of being stalked

7. Most of us DON'T!
Most men have had at least one psycho-ex who refused to let go when the relationship ended. Mine stalked me for two months after we broke up, called incessantly, stopped by my office almost daily, wrote notes on the front door of my house with a permanent marker, physically attacked me twice, and once stormed into a restaraunt while I was on a date with another woman and made a HUGE scene.

Man or woman, the psycho-ex stalker is NEVER a fun thing.

8. Depends
Like with everyone, it depends on who is doing the stalking. (And to what extreme the stalking goes.)

Being stalked by Debra Harry doesn't sound too bad. How about being stalked by (since we're on DU here) Katherine Harris?

Tad different?

9. Hmmm, that's pretty frivolous of you.
I don't. I speak from experience.

2. She sings it so..
over the top. I always thought it was playful, not mental.

4. Deborah Harry was one of my idols when I was young!
What a voice-and she was great live too.

5. What about "You Oughtta Know" by Alanis Morisette?
YOU OUGHTA KNOW

I want you to know that I'm happy for you
I wish nothing but the best for you both
An older version of me
Is she as preverted as me
Would she go down on you in a theater?
Does she speak eloquently
And would she have your baby
I'm sure she would make a really excellent mother
Cause the love that you gave that we made
Wasn't able to make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And everytime you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died 'til you died
But you're still alive
And I'm here to remind you
Of the mess you left when you went away
It's not fair to deny me of the cross i bare that you gave to me
You, you, you oughta know
You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap on the face how quickly i was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you f*ck her
Cause joke that you laid in the bed that was me
And i'm not going to fade
As soon as you close your eyes and you know it
And everytime I scratch my nails down someone else's back
I hope you feel it ...can you feel it?

The points are similar, and some of the lyrics (I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner) imply this is sung by someone who's shown up "not welcome".
Apparently it is OK for women to stalk men in the music biz.

6. Still, for bitterness, she's got nothing on Elvis Costello...
I Want You (1986)

Oh my baby baby I love you more than I can tell
I don't think I can live without you
And I know that I never will
Oh my baby baby I want you so it scares me to death
I can't say anymore than "I love you"
Everything else is a waste of breath
I want you
You've had your fun you don't get well no more
I want you
Your fingernails go dragging down the wall
Be careful darling you might fall
I want you
I woke up and one of us was crying
I want you
You said "Young man I do believe you're dying"
I want you
If you need a second opinion as you seem to do these days
I want you
You can look in my eyes and you can count the ways
I want you
Did you mean to tell me but seem to forget
I want you
Just since when were you so generous and inarticulate
I want you
It's the stupid details that my heart is breaking for
It's the way your shoulders shake and what they're shaking for
I want you
it's knowing that he knows you now after only guessing
It's the thought of him undressing you or you undressing
I want you
He tossed some tatty compliment your way
I want you
And you were fool enough to love it when he said
";I want you";
I want you
The truth can't hurt you it's just like the dark
It scares you witless
But in time you see things clear and stark
I want you
Go on and hurt me then we'll let it drop
I want you
I'm afraid I won't know where to stop
I want you
I'm not ashamed to say I cried for you
I want you
I want to know the things you did that we do too
I want you
I want to hear he pleases you more than I do
I want you
I might as well be useless for all it means to you
I want you
Did you call his name out as he held you down
I want you
Oh no my darling not with that clown
I want you
I want you
You've had your fun you don't get well no more
I want you
No-one who wants you could want you more
I want you
I want you
I want you
Every night when I go off to bed and when I wake up
I want you
I'm going to say it once again 'til I instill it
I know I'm going to feel this way until you kill it
I want you
I want you
I want you

11. Oh, it does...
...but I think it also implies you'll be buried in the crawlspace 'afterwards'.
