I was at work and the doorbell to our office rang. And it was a woman who was handing out these cards. Trying to humor her, I took the card and walked back into the office. Well, it turned out it was one of those sign language cards that deaf people hand out for donations. After I realized it, I heard the doorbell ring again. I felt almost sheepish handing the woman back her sign language card so I hesitated a little. By the time I got to the door, she had already left, being robbed of one of her sign language cards.

I'm just going to tell myself it was just a scam and she wasn't really deaf. It helps me sleep better at night.
