I finished the blanket
It's for a wedding present and the wedding is tomorrow night. I'll take it to the laundromat tonight and make sure it's spic and span.

It happens almost every time that when I put this much time into a blanket, I end up not wanting to part with it. But alas, I have never made myself a blanket.

Someone here at work has offered to bring their digital camera in so they can take a picture of it for me (I don't have a digital camera) so I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Time to rest up the hand for a week or two before I start on Christmas presents.

4. I sure hope they do!
it's my own take on the "black and scrap" granny square afgans. I use white instead of black. It brightens up the blanket I think.

7. Remember: it's not really a gift
if you don't want it yourself. :)

I made a scarf for a friend's granddaughter & absolutely fell in love with it since it turned out much better than I had thought. However, when I saw how happy she was to receive it, I was glad I got over it & gave it to her.

10. that's a nice way to look at it

Almost every single one of my son's friends wants a blanket from me. I wish my hands could stand to have me make more than 3 or 4 a year but between the carpal tunnel and the arthritis, these blankets truly are a labor of love.

The good part is that I'm not doing a lot of late-night snacking when I keep my hands busy like that.

9. Cool!!!
I'm stuck on 2 projects because I made mistakes a single rib scarf and garter stitch silk mohair thing (one for me, one for my aunt) only because i'm very nervous about fixing things so I have to go visit with some knitting gurus on Saturday. Unless I go to the yarn store pain in the ass. Looking forward to seeing your project. People make totally cool blankets it's mind boggling. What color, what technique, what style? I want to someday make a log cabin multi color blanket but that's way down the road. Wow!! Excellent!

12. I often don't go back to fix mistakes
if I can find a way to work around the mistake and get the pattern back on track, then I just do that.

Part of me believes that a mistake is part of what makes it "homemade" and therefore part of what makes it so wonderful.
