For me, it was 17 years of marriage, one child, more than $4,000 in lawyer fees (just on my side), no child support, and I'm STILL not divorced and I have no idea if I'll get to keep the house after this is all done.

(I wish I could have had a do-it-yourselfer, but he couldn't be trusted, so here we still are.)

That was the final blow for me....he sent his lawyer to the hearing and didn't bother showing up himself. It meant that little to him. So, that convinced me I'd done the right thing. Painful though it was.

I'm sure it was worth much more than that at one time, but in awhile you'll find whatever it cost to get out of a relationship gone irrevocably bad was worth every penny.
