True TV Confessions: Boohbah, & other shows I watched, fighting the flu
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 12:39 AM by nu_duer
Had the flu bad last week, spent the week on the couch, with my otc meds, diet RC cola, and my remote. And things got weird.

I'll start with Boohbah.

If you haven't seen Boobah, you won't understand. The pic above will do no justice. These fuzzy, dancing creatures zoom thru time/space in translucent orbs on technicolor ribbons...I found it a soothing, easy, and psychedelic elixir.

But that's not all, I also found myself watching Digimon, Full House, Mama's Family, and Saved by the Bell (that Zack!).

What's sad is, even though the flu has waned, I am still catching these shows. What is happening to me???!!!!! :D

Well, there are my tv confessions. Please share yours. It'll do me good.

1. Digimon
I watched that with my sister every Saturday for years! And I was in high school at the time!

2. I like Justice League on Cartoon Network
It's probably the most faithful to the kind of superhero stuff from when I was a kid.

And when our kids were little, I think I liked Mr Rogers more than they did... :)

3. I was watching Jimmy Neutron during Christmas with my nieces and
nephews. One of the cartoon characters said to the other "Shake that money maker!!". Where were these shows when I was a kid?

4. When I had the flu over New Year's . . .
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 01:24 AM by starroute
. . . all I could do was lie helplessly on the couch and watch makeover shows. At least three different channels seemed to be engaging in a vast, orgiastic marathon of makeover shows, perhaps in honor of the holiday.

I watched people being made over. I watched houses being made over. I watched people being forced to get rid of their junk and then have their houses made over. I watched Chip and Pepper, the twinkle twins, rush women through malls acquiring the raw ingredients to make them over.

I watched people's living rooms being made over by their neighbors and by their ex-girlfriends. I even saw some poor couple's living room being repainted the color of mud, but I couldn't bear to stay around and find out how they reacted when they saw it.

I would doze off fitfully and wake to even more makeovers.

It was truly mind-blowing.

On edit: Kiddie shows or cartoon shows I might watch at any time. But makeovers . . . not my style. It must have been the flu.
