Well done. On the name, anyway.

The reason was because the Captain is "a very private man."

:-)

She got to the Delta Quadrant with Q, and that's where they finally split up.

Episodes were "Captain's Holiday", "Qpid" and crap, can't remember the last one, but it was a Voyager episode.

67. Okily dokily, Rabrrrrrr:
And anyone left in the building...

In "Yesterday's Enterprise" (TNG), A temporal rift brought the crew of the Enterprise into contact with the Enterprise-C which left their proper timeline in 2344 and reappeared in 2366.

What was the name of the captain of the Enterprise-C from 2344, and why was that ship piloted back to her proper timeline by someone else?

68. Ah, sad that you missed Star Trek III: The Search for Trivia
Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 01:06 AM by Rabrrrrrr
It's Captain Rachel Garret, and they went back in order to continue to defend the Klingon outpost being attacked by Romulans in the hopes of averting the war with the Klingons that started because they (the Ent-C) went through the temporal rift. Lt. Yar - God bless her inability to act soul - went back with the C, and created a whole new semi-cool story line. :-) It was piloted by someone else (Richard Castille) because Garret was killified when Klingons attacked the Ent-C.

(Though no one on the other thread ever gave such a complete answer... but the question in that thread was only "Who was the captain".)

Okay, in Progress (DS9), Nog and Jake Sisko formed a fledgling corporation which traded 5,000 wrappages of yamok sauce for self-sealing stem bolts.

2 Questions:

What did the boys name their fledgling corporations? and
What did they trade the stem bolts for?

I saw very few DS9 episodes, and so can't answer your question at all! At least I know who Jake and Nog are.

I think they named it Khephra's House of Pain, and they traded for Yaks.

Edited on Sun Feb-01-04 05:52 PM by Kamika
It went alone because they didn't think the Jem'Hadar were as strong as they were, they had some runabouts with them (like 2?) but a runabout is like a shuttle, hardly a task force.

Then two Jem'Hadar fihters came and there was a big fight.. the Odyssey made it though and they did their mission and retreated when a damaged Jem'Hadar fighter kamikazed right into the already damaged Oddysey.

If I remember correctly the reason why the two fighters could damage the Oddysey so much in the initial fight was (I think the shields apparently were worthless against them) so the Oddysey had to fight with its hull as only protection

135. some pretty funny stuff
The writers had to come up with a way to drag him from DS9 to the enterprise.

In first contact it was easy since Worf was in the Defiant and Ent beamed the entire defiant crew onboard.

In this movie we got "I was in the neighbourhood" or something like that. (since they had no clue themselves we didn't hear the rest)

Although Insurrection, when I saw it in the theater, I foudn etnertaining (stupidly contrived at times, but it was fun, not a bogus POS like "First Contact" or "Nemesis").

Next question!

Not fun if it's only you and I :D

Some trivia, Insurrection was based on heart of darkness the book apocalypse now was based on, unfortunately Patric Stewart thought the script was too dark. In the orig script Data would flip out and Picard would have to kill him much like Marlon Brando flipped in Apoc now, only to find out he could have saved him (after he killed him)

Damn that would have been a good movie

138. wow - that would have been a HUGE change in script!
A dark, serious Star Trek would have been pretty cool. Could have been TNG's "Wrath of Khan".

And it would have saved us from "Nemesis". Whoever replaces Berman should, as his/her first agenda item, immediately offer a public declaration that "Nemesis" is not canonical, and apologize to world for that bit of tripe.

139. So what did you think was really bad with nemesis
I thought the basic story was pretty ok really, the whole b4 was stupid I agree, and probably how Shinzon can take over the whole Romulan empire, and also why Shinzon wants to kill all humans, and some other details, but with some tweaking I think it would have been ok.

I realize I'm in a minority though

140. And that's not enough to hate it?
I think you just covered the whole story line was stupid. :-)

And it was. It was poorly - excrably - written. The plot also was implausible and ridiculous and contrived. There was nothing of Star Trek in it, but there was everything of a bad Mel Gibson space film in it.

It was crap.

I think it was the only movie in my lifetime that I left the theater angry. I've hada cuople that I felt offended and cheated (Batman and Robin would be one of those), but I've never felt ANGER at having fed such a totally lazy, substandard pile of garbage. I was actually offended, and couldn't believe that the powers that be would let that thing go. But then, Berman IS the power that be, and so it's not surprising.

Pure junk. And I don't care what any one says, it wasn't Star Trek, and I will never view it as canonical, and I will never buy the DVD.

144. Because the Klingons were gonna capture it
so he set it so it would self-destruct a few seconds after the klingons beamed aboard and the enterprise crew beamed down to the genesis planet.

Or, one could also say the reason was, "to turn death into a chance for life."
