Trekkers:
What was the best TNG episode in your opinion?

For me it is either "The Best of Both Worlds". Both parts, where the Borg assimilated Picard, or "Yesterday's Enterprise" where the Enterprise-C came forward in time and in the alternate timeline the Federation was at war with the Klingons.

Where Picard lives another life in 20 minutes, a probe from an extinct planet puts him into a dream state.

3. I think I'd take Inner Light as well - or Who Watches the Watchers
also Family, Lessons, and Darmok.

All brilliant in their own ways, for their own reasons, but real solid, provocative compelling stories.

And just for fun, I love the Q episodes.

10. Rightful Heir didn't swing me so much
Though a good episode, and also giving some food for thought, it felt too much, I don't know, almost contrived - like it should have been a two parter. The answer and the resolution all came way too fast, so in the end, I felt like the story idea hadn't really been plumbed and was just sailed over quickly to get as much action in as possible.

13. I tend to agree, it would've been a great 2-parter...
hell it would've been a great movie!

I really love the actor's portrayal of Kahless, some awesome inspiring speeches from him, I could see why they followed him! His final words to Worf, especially, could translate into our society with merely the change of a couple of names

Gowron was just like my cat, knew from the beginning that it was all some right-wing fundie plot

4. I love that one,
and it haunts me during the summer, especially, as I slather up my children in 40 spf sunscreen and hats. I hate what we're doing to our planet.

All TNG episodes were excellent, but that one was one of my top 5.

15. I have a couple...
One was "Night Terrors," I believe. The crew began to go crazy and they found out that it was because they weren't dreaming.

Also, I liked "Cause and Effect" where they were caught in some kind of repetitive time loop, and had to catch on while they were repeating the same scene over and over.

17. I also llike the de-evolving one
where every de-evolves because of some sort of modified virus that one of the crew has - I think it was Barclay.

21. "Genesis"
That one directed by the good Dr. Beverly.

Dr. gives Barclay a shot of stuff to help him with a sickness by activating a dormant thingabob in his DNA, and it ends up activating ALL of the dormant ones, and infecting the rest of the crew.

I quite like it also. I don't think it's very popular in the Trekker world, but I could be wrong.

24. Yeah it is!
And silly as this may sound, McFadden does an INCREDIBLE job of acting like she's in absolute pain when Worf sprays her with venom.

I'd swear she really had been hit with acid the way she thrashes around and screams. :shudder:

I also loved when they were hiding, and hear this evil noise coming, and wonder aloud what the hell it is... the answer:

"Worf"

26. I think you're right
it's only a few seconds, but her screaming will forever haunt me.

And Worf - I wouldn't go up against a devolved Worf, pounding rather large indentations into the doors AND having that venom crap AND seriously feeling the need to mate.

Nope. I can think of much better ways to die.

OK so what if it was a remake of a Conneticut Yankee in King Aurthor's Court. I still enjoyed it...

Where else can you enjoy the inter connectedness of everything.

28. FACE OF THE ENEMY
Where Troi is a Romulan! Funniest & most enjoyable Stra Trek..Evah!!!

Troi: "I HAVE BEEN KIDNAPPED, SURGICALLY ALTERED, AND PLACED IN DANGER..."

Troi: "YOU DARE DEFY THE TAL SH'IAR!!!"

Troi: "I WILL HAVE YOU BLASTED OUT INTO SPACE!!!"

I also loved the pseudo-sapphic relationship she enjoyed with Romulan Cmdr. Toreth. I didn't know if they were going to kill each other or kiss!

N'vek was great too cause he had those shocked expressions where his mouth would gape open.

29. LOTS of good stuff in that one!
And some pretty good acting, as you point out, and Troi finally had her moment to find her authority.

N'Vek did have some great looks on him.

And Picard (or maybe Riker) with so much confusion - "What's Counselor Troi doing on that Romulan ship?" and later "What are these things on the bridge? HOLY HELL, members of the council! What's going on?"

I forgot the name but Picard was captured and tortured by the Cardassians, and some admiral took control of the Enterprise.. It was a really great episode.

Othervise I liked First contact ALOT, new uniforms, great movie (except the stupid humour on earth) and even abit of DS9 in it :D

Then The pilot and the last episode was GREAT aswell

33. The torture scenes were excellent
That story line in the torture chamber was some incredibly well done science fiction writing, and powerfully performed. It's also great because everything that went on in the chamber is torture techniques being used today throughout the world. Someone on the show (Stewart, maybe? Or the writers?) was heavily involved with Amnesty International, so wanted to use techniques that are really used, like sleep deprivation, food deprivation, pain, and being forced to accept a falsity as truth.

"There are FOUR lights!" I will never forget that ending.

I think those episodes were called "Chain of Command".
