15. No, really, there should be "none of the above" ...
people may have other choices, like none of them. But we all understand since your pwecious Yankees didn't make it.

The Yankees not in the World Series makes baby Jesus laugh his ass off cry.

10. Other:
Jeter...I never really followed the old timers, and I know they are deserving of respect, but I never watched any of those players play, that you listed....except for Mattingly, and I never paid any attention to him...

Thats why I went with Jeter...he is a good player, I damn near cringe whenever he comes up to the plate in a crucial moment, because from what I've seen, he is incredible hard to strike out, and he usually delivers...

I'm in fact, not a Yankee fan, and I dislike the Yankee's a lot, but I have to give respect, where its due...and I think Jeter is the best Yankee, I've ever seen play the game...

BTW, I'm at a loss as to the Torree issue...I can't believe the Yankee's gave him up, he was...and still is such a class act...I hope my Mariners sign him!

:D

You-Know-Who has still not forgiven Munson for his perceived stupidity in flying that plane. The subject came up during the recent Cory Lidle episode; I was there visiting, taking a nap on the couch, when I heard this BOOM! (did I mention they live on E. 72nd?) Like good New Yorkers, we all took turns craning our necks out the window...

32. So many great ones that I couldn't decide
I barely remember Mickey Mantle but at least I do remember him as a player so I was going to pick him. Then I saw Babe Ruth's name and thought I should choose him. Then I saw Lou Gehrig's name and thought maybe he's my favorite.
At that point, I realized I can't pick just one. All of them were great.

It's all good for me. I was born in 1975 so I went a long long time before there was a World Series win I could remember. The late 90s will tide me over until our next run of wins. We need to build up our farm system and raise some home grown talent like back in the day.

Honorable mention goes to Chuck Knoblauch. I'll never forget the time he hit Keith Olbermann's Mom in the head with an errant throw.
