There was a metal detector at the high school football game tonight

Apparently there was a gang-related shooting in town today, so at the gate they had rent-a-cops with a walk-through detector and a wand — because gang members are big football fans. :shrug:

When I went through, I put my keys and lighter in the basket but I still set off the thing. The rent-a-cop said it was the metal clip on my media pass and waved me on. Good thing he didn't think it might be the shiv in my sock.
