Which would you rather have? $1,000,000 or immortality?
Edited on Wed Oct-17-07 11:05 PM by Chimpy McCokespoon
edit:

immortality: you won't go through some weird shit like in that movie "Death Becomes Her", your organs and bones will have the ability to regenerate themselves but you won't be able to travel interplanetarily, so when the sun goes super nova you better hope we have that ability to travel the stars otherwise you will just float around in the vacuum of space until you happen to float by another Earth-like planet or planetoid.

money: it's tax free and in a Swiss bank.

1. Immortality.
Invest $100 bucks in a mutual fund that gets 10% return,it will double every 7 years.

2. My dear Chimpy McCokespoon!
I'll take the money, as long as it's tax-free!

Immortality is over-rated, IMHO, of course...

Besides, I don't want to outlive my money!

Which one would you choose?

:hi:

:D

I wouldn't want to live forever and then watch all my beloved ones die before me. I'd rather enjoy life while I'm living it and have some money for the ride....

Because if I had $1,000,000 I could purchase a degree of immortality.

Because that could be a deal breaker.

15. The money
I have always thought immortality was kind of a crappy deal. Especially if you stayed the same as when you reached maturity. You would think people would start to suspect something. To keep people from finding out you would have to keep moving around every couple of years and severing all ties with people. Seems like a pain in the ass.

The money on the other hand, a million still goes pretty far in some parts of the world.

25. Easy.
I'd take the money.

I'm very happily married, and couldn't imagine a life, even an easy life, without Cam. He's my everything. Also, I've spent the past 2 years doing national service--essentially a vow of poverty. Honestly, a large sum of money (heck, even a small sum of money) would change our lives in an amazing way.

A million...heck, we'd be able to buy a house in the Seattle market! Dang, imagine that!

Immortality. Yes I'd hate losing friends/lovers/mates all along the way, but I have learned one can get used to anything if you are in it long enough.

I could live on one of the many moons out there once the Earth is full.

:hi:

EDIT: bad gramer *poke*

28. I've always feared the idea of immortality.
Not because of the overwhelming boredom and nihilism that you would eventually encounter, but because I am extremely accident prone. Given an infinite amount of time I'm sure I would fall into a pit I would be unable to free myself from, break my neck and have a totally non functioning body, get ejected into the void of space, etc. Some situation where I would wish I could die but would be incapable.

But, it would be cool as hell until then.

Always did, even as a kid.

I don't want to decide, "Okay, I'm over this life thing," and then find out there's no way for me to die.

I'm not the kind of person who becomes "bored" and I'd really like to see some of the trees I've planted (white oaks, beeches, butternuts, hard maples, etc) mature into the stately beauties they will be in a couple hundred years.
